Apt and Roussillon

A shopping (and rest) day was in order so we took off for the town of Apt: a big grocery store, Le Clerc, a well-stocked art supply store, and a McDonald’s. After we sketched and painted our lunch at a colorful cafe, we discovered the name of it was the Mona Lisa! Appropriate for two artists, don’t you think?Image Image Roussillon was our next trip, only 10 minutes away and my favorite village. The red ochre cliffs are known world-wide. All the buildings reflect the bright colors of the rock, and pure dry pigments from it can be found in the stores. There is a tour on the trails through the cliffs, but that will have to be foranother time.   aImageImage
